| On January 11, 2005, Amparo Edelmira lost much more than her family's home during the devastating floods and mudslides that struck Tijuana that day. She lost her 5 year old son. During the catastrophe that took his life, her family's home was destroyed and her property was rendered uninhabitable. |
| Patricia and Rene Tapia suffered a tragedy of their own that same day. Another mudslide destroyed their Tijuana home. They lost their two daughters, ages 8 and 12, in the horrific incident. |
| With the help of Build A Miracle, the Edelmira and Tapia families now have new homes with solid floors, strong walls, and stable roofs over their heads. |
| Six families in Tijuana were evicted from their makeshift homes in the spring of 2006. |
| Their homes were located on land they thought they owned. |
| But the man who sold it to them was a swindler - he didn't own the land he sold them. |
| Kicked out of their homes, and with nowhere else to go, they lived amongst the filth and disease in the city dump. |
| Build A Miracle rallied the troops and, in a short period of time, began construction |
