Christmas 2008
Dear Friends of Build a Miracle,
We are asking for your help this holiday season.
For the first time in the history of Build a Miracle, we decided to cancel a build trip (Oct 26).
The primary reason is the current strife in Tijuana. We are confident in the way we travel and work
south of the border, but thought it would be best to let things settle down before we go again.
The second reason is lack of funds to complete the 3 homes we started in September.
We hope to be back in action around February. Meanwhile the local volunteers in Mexico will be
working on the homes in progress as funds become available. We have 3 unfinished homes and 8
families currently living in shacks on the waiting list.
Materials for one 400 square foot Build a Miracle house cost about $10,000. If you would like to give the
gift of a home this holiday season, $25 will provide one square foot of a permanent, warm and secure
home. This would be the best Christmas gift these young families could ever imagine receiving. Each
donation truly makes a difference. If you want to get together with a group of family, friends, etc. and
fund an entire home, we will make sure that you have the opportunity to establish a special relationship
with the family.
We have enclosed an ornament (*) showing one of the families awaiting the gift of a home. We hope
that its presence on your tree warms your own home this year and that it serves as a reminder of the
great blessing you have been to Build a Miracle.
