Dear Friends of Becky,

We are so excited to announce that the first Build Day to work on the two homes in honor of Becky
will be
August 16. We have already collected enough money to fund one and a half homes.

Becky was always so happy to use her Spanish to help make life a little better for our friends in
Tijuana. Her loving touch and the way she made each of us feel special will be missed south of the
border as well.

Both families that will receive Becky homes are excited to become part of Build a Miracle and are
looking forward to meeting Becky’s family and friends who have made the dream of a home
possible.

The first Becky Home is BAM home #94, for Odilon and Rosa Evangelista and their 3 kids from 6 to
15 years old. Odilon is a masonry worker and Rosa stays home with the kids, who are all in school.

The second home, #95, is for Jose Ramon and Antonieta Reyes. Jose Ramon works in the
maintenance department at a hotel and Antonieta is a part time waitress. All 3 kids, ages 7 to 15,
are in school.

The transformation you are making possible in the lives of these two families goes far beyond a
safe and secure home. The kids will all participate in the BAM scholarship program. They live near
our Community Center, where both adults and children can take advantage of tutoring, PC classes,
vocational training in sewing and baking, music, family gardening and much more. The older
children will be expected to volunteer at the Center, helping younger students with their studies.

Both families will earn their new home by volunteering in the community and/or by helping build
homes for others. This is the typical way that we maintain a very special long term relationship with
all of the BAM families, and this relationship will be even deeper and stronger thanks to Becky’s
legacy of love and grace.

The Evangelista and Reyes families have sacrificed to keep their children in school. This has been
their priority. Through their struggles, they have not lost sight of the dream of a better life for the next
generation. What a great blessing it is for all of us, united behind Becky’s love, to be able to
facilitate their dream. In the end they will have to make it happen, but we are so happy to clear the
path and shine a light, however weak, on the road ahead.

For those of you who haven’t built before, please check out www.buildamiracle.net and check out
some “day one” photos. We will be mixing concrete and pouring the two pads on Day One.

God bless you. Please let us know by email if you can join us on
the 16th. We will meet at the
border at 8am and walk across the border to buses that will take us to the build site. We are usually
home around 5pm. We'll send more details when you reply.

We will be in touch about the second Becky Build Day date, planned for mid to late September.

With love, Chris & Julianne & the families of Build a Miracle.
