Dear Friends of Build A Miracle,
The North family is back from six months of traveling and we’re ready to get back into full swing.
Thanks for always coming through for the Build A Miracle families. Your hard work and generous contributions have given them
hope and a new life. One gentleman even thanked us for building his family a mansion… a 400 square foot, two bedroom MANSION!
As the new school year begins we are providing scholarships to over 200 students who live in the homes we have built together.
Each elementary school student who maintains a B average earns $100 for fees, supplies, and uniforms, and so far with very few
exceptions, all of the kids have held up their end of the deal.
This year we have completed eight (8) homes, have two (2) in progress, and have expanded a community center.
In September we hope to make the Build A Miracle dream into reality for three (3) more families.
We are short on funds but long on families that would benefit greatly from a safe home and the long term access to education,
programs at the community centers, and the sense of hope that comes with being part of the Build A Miracle family.
We are nearly done with two homes built in honor of our dear friend Becky D’Aoust who passed away in May. The two families that
are now part of BAM, thanks to her legacy, will have completed homes by the end of September, when we will go with Becky’s family
and close friends to paint and help the move in.
At the same time, we want to start construction on three (3) more homes in El Florido, homes #96 through #98!
|El Florido Community Update
In addition to 44+ homes, the El Florido Community Education Center is thriving with tutoring, music, karate, a PC lab, vocational
training in the PC lab and bakery, and the NEW ADULT EDUCATION CENTER.
This is exciting news, as the Mexican Adult Education Institute now holds classes at the community center. We are starting with 12
students: adults – parents actually – who are studying to pass elementary school and middle school.
