Build A Miracle
Build A Miracle
What's new!
Dear friends,

It’s been a while since we’ve been in touch so we want to give you a Build a Miracle update.

Due to the unrest in Tijuana, for the past year we have taken smaller groups down to build,
instead of our usual bus loads of volunteers.  It was a tough decision - we believe that the
opportunity to serve others in Mexico with our own hands can be as much of a life changing
and enriching experience for us as it is for the families that go from a shack to a beautiful
two bedroom home.

Having the opportunity to share our gifts with them can do so much for us and we have missed sharing that opportunity with you this
year.  So…below are our plans for September and October.
√  8 homes have been built this year (108 total since 1999!).

√  The El Florido Build a Miracle Community Center is thriving and growing and now includes an official Adult Education program.

√  Neighbors are still working together in the face of very tough times.

√  Lives are still changing.

√  The families who have received homes continue to help build homes for the new families.
We have 3 families on the waiting list…

…and enough money in the bank to build 2 homes.  The
women in the El Florido neighborhood have a committee that
helps choose the families who will benefit from the program.
They have many more families in mind that could use our help.
WE WANT TO BUILD MORE
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP
1. Come build with us.
2. Donate to help build – we can’t do it without funding…

A 510c3 non profit organization dedicated to housing and education in Mexico’s poor communities.
100% of your contribution goes directly to home building and education.
There are now over 300 school age children living in Build a Miracle homes!

The good news is that the Mexican Government FINALLY started enforcing the law against “mandatory” school registration fees, so
we no longer have to pay scholarships for every child in order to keep everybody in school.

This allows us to FOCUS our resources on after-school programs like much needed tutoring, computers and vocational training.  We
continue to give scholarships to High School and College students, who in turn volunteer at the Community Center as tutors.

We can also selectively help the poorest of the poor, who would still find it impossible to keep their kids in elementary school without
the help.
